If you decide to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you’ll have to go through several security steps. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the current domain registrar – on the condition that you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the owner's mailbox and no one else can see it. You’ll have to give this code to the new domain name registrar, or else they will not be able to start the domain name transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may comprise of digits or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be altered on a regular basis. Some companies refer to this code as an Auth key, a domain password or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you have a cloud website hosting, you have registered a domain name through our company and you’d like to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP authentication code with less than several clicks of the mouse. When you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you’ve registered through our company listed in alphabetical order. On the right-hand side of each domain name, you will see a tiny EPP icon for all top-level domain name extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between registrars. Clicking the icon will send the EPP code to the domain name owner’s email momentarily. In the very same section you can also find and eventually update the email address, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain name under a semi-dedicated server account with us, you will be able to get its EPP transfer authorization code with just one single click, in case you decide to transfer it to a different registrar company. All it takes to achieve that is to sign into your Hepsia Control Panel, to visit the Registered Domains section and to click on the EPP button, which will be to the right of the domain name. Of course, this button will be available only if the respective TLD extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within a minute, an email that contains the EPP code will be sent to the domain owner’s email address associated with that domain name. You can change the latter through the exact same Control Panel section – in case the one that is currently listed in the WHOIS register isn’t a valid one. As the update will take effect without delay, you can request the EPP transfer code immediately after that.
