It's not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords because they're easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins which aren't updated for a long time. In order to avoid such a scenario, we have added an advanced security option named JailHost. It restricts the access which a script has only to its own folder, so if one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to view any other content in your account, thus the damage will be small. Of course, using JailHost will not replace the security measures you must always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it will allow you to restrict any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you host your sites within a cloud website hosting account from our firm, you could protect them using the JailHost option with just a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is accessible with all plans and can be activated for every folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so that files for different sites don't get mixed up like it regularly happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you might use scripts that require access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option can interfere with their correct operation, but shielding all other folders is very easy. If a protected Internet site gets hacked for whatever reason, we can restore it easily because we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups using Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our semi-dedicated server solutions come with JailHost integrated by default. The option is not activated automatically when you add a domain name since you may need to use a script that accesses different folders in the account, but you'll be able to activate it with ease from your Hepsia Control Panel and protect your other websites with just a few clicks. Hepsia is much better to use when you have multiple sites as it keeps them in separate folders and does not keep the files for several websites in the very same folder like it often happens with alternative Control Panels. This allows us to offer you JailHost as all folders can be isolated from each other. In case that any of your websites gets hacked, we will be able to quickly restore it thanks to the multiple daily backup copies that we will keep and meanwhile the attacker will not be able to do further damage since the access to your other Internet sites will be cut off.
